Standard Dress Attire Policy
2022-2023

Shirts – Students may wear golf-polo type shirts (no zippers) and button-front shirts in solid colors. Only the top two buttons may be unbuttoned.
Must be solid colored and are to have a collar and be of the appropriate size.
Shirts may be long or short sleeves.
Boys’ shirts must be tucked in and remain tucked in at all times. (This does not apply for grades K-2.)
K-8 girls are not required to tuck in shirts. Shirts must be below the waist and skin not exposed when arms are raised. Shirt length must not extend beyond the hips. Shirts worn untucked must be fitted.
There are to be no logos, writing, or pictures on the shirt other than the official school mascot, school logos, or emblems which have been approved by principal or Director of Schools.
Students may wear long or short sleeved solid colored t-shirts or turtlenecks underneath the approved golf or button-front shirt.
Tops and bottoms must be contrasting colors. No same color combinations.
Sweatshirts/Sweaters – Students may wear any solid colored V-neck or crew neck sweaters, sweatshirts, sweater vests, hooded sweatshirts, sweatshirt vests, or cardigan sweaters over the approved shirts stated above.
Sweaters or sweatshirts are not to be tied over the shoulders or around the waist.
There are to be no logos, writing, or pictures on the shirt other than the official school mascot, school logos, or emblems which have been approved by principal or Director of Schools.
Pants/Caprisfor girls – below the knee – pants for boys – Students may wear solid colored khaki, black, or navy blue pants (hemmed or cuffed) of a cotton blend (NOT denim) and must be worn fitted at the waist line.
Low slung, baggy-seat, baggy-legged, or bell-bottom pants are not permitted.
K-2 – Denim is permitted.
Grades 3-8 – Jeans or jean-type khaki pants are not permitted.
No rivets on pants.
Cargo pants, carpenter pants, or overalls are not permitted.
Pant legs cannot be rolled up at any time.
There are to be no holes, rips, tears or markings. Any patches on pants must be the same color as the pants.
Shorts – Students may wear solid colored khaki, black, or navy blue shorts of a cotton blend and must be worn at the waistline. Boys’ shirts must be tucked in and remain tucked in at all times. (This does not apply for grades K-2.) Grades 3-8 may not wear denim shorts. Boys must wear belts with shorts. Other criteria:
Low slung, baggy-seat, or baggy legged shorts are not permitted.
K-2: Denim is permitted.
No rivets or embellishments on shorts.
Cargo shorts, carpenter shorts, or overall shorts are not permitted.
There are to be no holes, rips, tears or markings. Any patches must be the same color as the shorts.
K-2 –May wear shorts of appropriate length in approved school colors and denim.
Grades 3-8– May wear shorts that come within 3 inches of the knee in approved school colors.
Skirts/Dresses – All skirts/dresses must be of a cotton blend.
Dresses may be in any solid color and be knee length or longer without slits rising above the knee.
Skirts may be solid colored khaki, black, or navy blue and be of a cotton/polyester blend.
Skirts must be worn at the waistline and be knee length or longer without slits rising above the knee. (Cheerleaders may wear uniform skirts on approved game days).
Leggings or tights in solid colors may be worn with skirts/dresses. Added for 21-22: Leggings and knee socks can be any color, design, brand, etc. No holes allowed.
Belts –
Are to be worn through the belt loops and buckled.
Students may wear solid brown or solid black belts with a plain buckle that does not exceed 1 ½ inch in width. Belts are not to have any writing, design or logos.
All boys are required to wear belts.
Girls must wear belts when clothing is designed with belt loops.
Grades PreK-2 - Belts are not required.
Footwear– Shoes are to be worn at all times.
****NOTICE TO PARENTS: Rubberized or foam-like flip-flops, where the toe-piece is attached through the sole to the bottom of the flip-flop, may not be worn.
Shoes may be worn with heels not taller than 1 ½ inches.
Coats/Jackets-
Oversized coats/jackets or trench coats are not permitted within the school building.
Coats and jackets must not have drug, alcohol, gang related, gambling, or other such messages or pictures.
Appropriate Headwear to be worn by students:
Barrettes
Headbands
Ponytail holders
Bows
Any other head wear is not permitted.
Dress Down Days/Non-Dress Code Days:
No student will have to pay to dress out of code.
Homecoming weeks are excluded from the standard dress attire policy.
Each school will be allowed 10 days to dress out of code. The days will be decided at the discretion of the administration.
Spirit shirts every Friday with jeans.
