Changes to Kindergarten Eligibility Law
Please take note of the following statutes, which have changed the cutoff date for students starting kindergarten in 2013-14 and beyond.
Directors of schools must determine how their districts will respond to the portion of the law below, which allows for children who turn five (5) years of age by Sept. 30 to enter kindergarten at the discretion of the district through assessment. If the district chooses to assess for early entrance the screening instruments used for that determination are at the discretion of the district:

If your child has one of the following conditions or takes medication at school, please download and fill out the appropriate forms. Make sure to bring your forms with you on registration day.
All students new to the Lexington City School System must provide these documents for official enrollment.This does not apply to students who are currently enrolled in the City System and are returning from the previous school year.
If living with someone else or renting from a landlord where payment also includes utilities, a notarized statement must be provided as proof of residence.
