Whitney Owens is in her eleventh year at Lexington Middle School. Previously she served as the assistant principal for 2.5 years and this will be her third year as the principal. She is a native of Hollow Rock, Tennessee where she graduated from Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central High School. Whitney attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and received her Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Human Performance. She went on to complete her graduate degree in Educational Leadership at Carson-Newman University.
It is Ms. Owens objective to build a strong community of learners with a dedicated team of educators focused on helping students succeed. She believes that all students will be able to reach their full potential when everyone works as a team. She is beyond excited to serve the children and the school community with energy, enthusiasm, and excellence.
