State of the City


Jeffery Griggs is proud to be the mayor of Lexington.

It is a growing, vibrant, and safe community with a lot to offer new business and industry, he told the Lexington Rotary Club during his annual State of the City address on Tuesday, April 30th.

Each year the civic club has hosted the Lexington Mayor and Henderson County Mayor to give an address on the state of the local governments.

Griggs has served as Mayor since his election in 2017 and gave the club an overview of the changes he has seen since taking office and his concerns about the future.

Henderson County, Lexington Awards Parks Grants
 Lexington Depot Park is a new neighborhood park paying homage to the Lexington Depot.

Henderson County and Lexington were among 32 communities awarded grants for new parks recently though the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). The county and city were awarded over $1 million of the $26.5 million awarded by the state.
