Even Start is a FREE literacy program custom designed for each family where parent and child can work together to achieve educational goals and skills.

Services will serve families meeting the two following criteria;

1. Even Start participants must be primary caregiver of a child between the ages of birth through 7 years.
2. Even Start participants must be in need of Adult Basic Education, a GED, or have other educational goals.

Parents must agree to meet all program components which require: Adult Education, Parent Meetings, Parent/child time together (PACT), Home Visits, and Early Childhood Services.
"Even Start integrates all of these components into a single, unified program.  The design is based on the premise that these components build on each other and that families need to receive high-quality instructional services in all four areas... in order to bring lasting change and effectively improve parent's and children's literacy achievement..."
The Even Start Family Literacy Program offers families a supportive environment where parents and children work together to strengthen family relationships and academic skills.  Participation will provide opportunities for parents and children to make a commitment to life-long learning.
